Treatment for anxiety in cats
The veterinary medicine and pharmacology is yet in its developing stages, however, there are some medications which have been recommended widely to treat anxiety in cats. Cat anxiety medication includes Benzodiazepines, Buspirone Hydrochloride, and Fluoxetine.
Benzodiazepines
Benzodiazepines have a very good capability to treat anxiety in animals too. Drugs like diazepam and alprozolam is often prescribed to treat anxiety in cats and dogs. The drug has different dosages for cats. The commonly available dosages are 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg. Benzodiazepines are often prescribed when the animal has fear for noises and large crowds.
